研究领域和兴趣:

界面物理化学:

研究界面上的物理化学现象。主要利用光学方法,特别是非线性光学方法,如光学二次谐波(SHG - Second Harmonic Generation)及红外和频光谱(SFG - Sum Frequency Generation)研究平整及粗糙微粒界面的分子结构及化学动力学过程。非线性光学界面研究是近20年来新兴的研究领域,是在分子水平上研究界面物理化学的为数及少的有效方法。特别是非线性光学方法最近三年来在粗糙微粒界面研究上的进展,为深入研究生物、环境科学、化学及制药等工业中广泛存在的界面化学现象提供了新的物理化学手段。正如沈元壤教授在1999年4月的综述文章(J.Phys.Chem. B,103, p3292, 1999) 中指出:"(将最近Eisenthal等人的方法和概念[Ref.1,4,5]从实验上)扩展至SFG是一定可行的。这将开启一个非常重要的表面科学和技术的新研究领域。"我们将着重在基本现象和方法上对不同的界面化学结构和过程加以了解和控制,包括生物膜、大气溶胶及溶液中的半导体、氧化物微粒等界面的研究。

溶液及界面上的光谱及动力学:

集中于溶液及界面上的非线性光谱和动力学研究。红外和频光谱(SFG)将为我们了解界面上的分子成键及环境提供最深入的了解。在此基础上,我们将运用和频光谱对于溶液及界面上手性分子的特殊识别能力,以及瞬态偏振光谱等手段,研究溶液及界面上手性及非手性分子的化学环境和分子间相互作用。

溶液及气相中的分子反应动力学:

溶液及气相化学反应的基元过程的光谱及动力学研究,包括利用瞬态吸收、荧光、质谱等光谱和时间分辨手段,研究溶液及气相中分子内部和分子间的传能,电荷转移,成键、断键,及溶剂化过程等。
